How much does it cost to see a dermatologist?

For acne. My mom says she'll take me. Price doesn't really matter, we certainly aren't poor. But I was wondering how much does it cost to go in and have them look at your face and maybe prescribe you something. Also, do you have to get a regular doctor's recommendation to see a dermatologist since they are considered a specialty doctor? We have insurance. Also, any other info about going to the dermatologist that is important, please. Thanks. How much does it cost to see a dermatologist?
Usually Insurance covers some of the cost for visiting and some of the price for the meds. It's like going to a regular doctor. And you do not have to get a regular doctor's recombination. All of this depends on your insurance and the doctor of your choice. Some dermatologists ask for a recommendation others don't, depending on your insurance company they may have a website with a list of dermatologists in your area. The price depends on your insurance, and if your insurance will cover the doctor of your choice. At most visits all you have to pay is a co-payment. most of the time it is between 20-50 dollars.

I have horrible skin and have been to dermatologists and specialists. Your dermatologist may or may not give you an allergy test to see if your acne is actually an allergy (mine turned out to be). Its not that bad though, they will more then likely prescribed you a medicine and schedule a follow up to see how it works for you.

Good luck with your visit.
