I don't have severe acne but I have enough to look really bad. I would prefer to only go to the doctor as a last resort, and proactive did nothing for me. I would like it gone quickly (wouldn't everyone? haha) but mostly I just want it gone. Any suggestions? What is the best way to clear up acne w/out going to the dermatologist or using Proactiv?
Proactive destroyed my daughters face, but there is an amazing product you can use the Medicated Acne Treatment by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics, it delivers results my two daughters were scarring and having so much trouble, finally once I found and tried these products their skin is like brand new no scars just a clear beautiful complexion.
The company that manufactures it is beeroyalproducts.com Good LuckWhat is the best way to clear up acne w/out going to the dermatologist or using Proactiv?
EXFOLIATE
CLEANSE
TONE
MOISTURIZE
the four golden rules of skin care
just go home, and do it intensly... consider it a facial jam session.
sometimes skipping one or more of these steps works even better- it all depends on the skin you have.
I have dry skin, so I skip toning.
well you shud try clean and clear face washes, and use some kind of pimple treatment and lotion...they also sell those 3 step acne solution things in cvs, kinda likeproactiv but i dont think as expensive
Take a look at this page, it might help your situation. It has information on acne, how to treat it naturally, and advertisers with alternative and mainstream acne products:

Try treating it with a product that has Salicylic Acid if benzoyl peroxide doesn't work. I like Prescriptives Acne Defense Serum, but I'm sure there's others out there that work, too.
The most important thing is a three part system, similiar to Proactive. University Medical has a great kit, similiar to Proactive. Each day, you should start by cleansing. Since you have acne, stick with a cleanser with saliycic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Cream formulas won't dry out your skin as much as gels or foams. Following, you should tone your skin. Base your astringent off how severe your acne is -- anyone at a local drug store or department store should be able to help (btw, I work at one). Lastly, you should moisturize. I realize that it seems silly to add more moisture -- but if you don't, your skin will overcompensate oil, and you'll break out more. Make sure that your moisturizer is OIL FREE. Wear sunscreen daily. Drink a lot of water. Take off your make-up nightly (this is imperative). Exfoliate once a week. Spot treat individual acne blemishes. People react differently to different acne medications, some like salicylic acid, others benzoyal peroxide, some sulfer... It just depends. Ole Hendrickson makes a great one that combines salicyic and benzoyal, but its a little pricey (sephora.com)... Walgreens benzoyal peroxide works pretty well, too.
Its a lot of work, I know, but I find it better to spend time and feel better about myself -- I didn't get acne until I was an adult!!!
You should clear up in about a week or two... I hope for the best!
i use to have bad acne but all id o is wash my face with soap and water ever morning and every night before i go to bed and it clears up pretty good
Wash your face with the water and soaps 2-4 times a day.
I use a combination of birth control, pro-activ, and different spot treatments. It's important to drink lots of water to flush toxins out of your body as well. Drinking soda increases the sugar in your body. It's also very important to wash your face every day. If I wear makeup and then go to bed without washing it off, I notice blemishes immediately. Your pores need to be able to breathe, and wearing makeup as rarely as possible is important. If you aren't going out, or you're only seeing people who you don't care that they see you without makeup, leave it off.
I also find it helpful to be careful what you pop. Don't pop zits unless you have to, do NOT pop under-the-skin zits (that painful kind that is red but deep under all seven layers of skin). If I pop anything, it's blackheads because they are clogs and it's good to open them before they become zits. Of course my skin isn't perfect but that's what I find works. If you don't use pro-activ, try some gentile cleansers and wash your face at least twice a day: once in the morning and once before bed.
My suggestion would be Estro-step the birthcontrol pill. I had really really bad acne before I went on the pill and it just cleared it right up. and it was fast to.
its hard to say just because everyones skin is different. proactive didnt work for me either, but neutrogena works really good for me.
All right, drink lots of water and have your fair share of vegetables. Also, steer clear of oily foods and greasy foods and dont have too much sugar. Wash your face everyday atleast twice, but only use soap once. If this still doesn't work, go to www.wikihow.com and search. It's a great website!
check what suits your skin type.
have a list of the oinment, medicine you use. journal their effect on you.
use what you notice works well.
all antibiotics are good for 3 months. switch for another in the 4th month and you can reuse the former after 3months of using the later.
3 months, time when you yourself get immune with the antibiotic
BENzoyl peroxide of the PROACTIVE... use ample amount :)
Witch Hazel! Less than $2 in the pharmacy at wal-mart. It totally cleared up my acne!!! Hope I helped!
