what are the best collages to go to for dermatology? What high school courses do you need to become a dermatologist?
No you didnt ruin your chances. To get into an excellent medical school you need to get into a great college, which means you need to do your best in high school. I would reccommend lots of biology and anatomy courses, medical terminology, and classes like that. After you graduate from high school and you get into college you should major in Pre-Med or Biology (you can major in virtually anything and still get into medical school, but these are the popular majors) Anyway, while your in college you need to do TONS of things, because medical school is really hard to get into. More than half the people that apply are denied. So you need a really high GPA while in college, especially in your premed classes. You need to do lots of volunteer work during your freetime. You need to shadow doctors too, this means just follow them around for awhile and observe what they do. The more extracurricular things you have, the better you look. If you get accepted to med school, theres another four years. Usually most of the people accepted graduate too. After you graduate med school you have 1 year of internship and 3 years of residency, where you will work practically nonstop and be paid around 50,000 i think (not sure) But after that you will be making around 200,000. Any career in medicine is a wise choice to go into because it will continue expanding. As for the best colleges, medical school is very expensive, so I would consider staying within your state.
