I wanted to know how many years it takes to become a Dermatologist, and if anyone would recommend a school in California.How long does is take to become a Dermatologist?
A dermatologist is a physician, so the timeframe is the same as any other specialty - 4 years of college followed by med. school, internship and residency. It takes roughly 10-12 years to accomplish all of those steps.How long does is take to become a Dermatologist?
There are several medical schools in California. You need, of course, a medical degree to become a dermatologist. The residency requirement is nominally two years. The medical schools there on the Left Coast are all pretty equal in the quality of their graduates - so pick the inexpensive one!
