When removing a mole do you go to a dermatologist or a surgeon?

im kind of confused..

i want to get it removed as soon as possible..

help? When removing a mole do you go to a dermatologist or a surgeon?
Dermatologist, they will etheir remove it themselves or send you to a sergeon, but usually they can do it themselves. When removing a mole do you go to a dermatologist or a surgeon?
Dermatologist and sometimes your own family doctor can do it, mine removed two for me. A surgeon is only needed if it is something like a cancerous tumor. They will just give you a little local anesthetic agent to numb it up then they will just cut it off. It does not hurt, usually there are no stitches they may burn it a little to stop it from bleeding but you wont feel a thing.
Dermatologist or Surgeon...I cant't remember..I had one removed like 10 years ago

I need help too people!!! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
you definately need to go to your doctor who would refer you to a skin specialist if she or he believes there to be any concern. if you are wanting to remove if for looks then still go to your doctor and they will most probably suggest a surgeon
Your family doctor can do simple ones. Anything deeper or larger would need to be done by a dermatologist. However I believe you have to be referred by your family doctor so start there. You may walk out mole free on that same day!
i was advised by a plastic surgeon to do it with a plastic surgeon because they close up the area better than a dermatologist. i'm speaking about one on your face or some area you might be self-conscience about otherwise a dermatologist is fine. i would trust my dermatologist for removal.
i had a mole on my foot that i had removed..your gonna go to a* Dermatologist so he can acess it ,than they will decide if it needs to be removed..and they can do it usually in the medical clinic where they work . no worries
Go to a Good Dermatologist, first.. they will determine or help you to determine the best method.

How much it would cost to go see a dermatologist without insurance?

i have problems with sun spots on my face like redness from the sun and heat and stuff like that. and i have dark spots from pimples too. i dont think my insurance will cover it. so how much it would cost for a consultation? and how much for the products that they gonna give me? and how long would it take to get rid of it? i'm 14 by the way. thanks alot! How much it would cost to go see a dermatologist without insurance?
It really depends on a couple of things. If you have insurance, you should first check and see if an appointment will be covered. You may need a referral from your primary care physician. If not, different doctors charge different prices, especially if you're paying out of pocket. Derms are usually VERY expensive. There may be a larger price tag for your first appointment, and different prices for your follow ups. And last, what you pay will depend on the treatment the dermatologist prescribes for you. Any procedure done in the office (like using lasers, or peels) will cost more than a prescription. However, a prescription, like differin for example, will still run you around $150. Find a good doctor, and they may start you off with some samples!

Hope this helps!

YES. You also can do one yourself in front of a full-length mirror...anything you see that you even THINK is suspicious should be reported to your dermatologist who will check it out and let you know.

Can any dermatologist do a skin cancer screening?
A dermatologist is a specialist in diseases of the skin and that includes skin cancer. You need to check with your insurance provider because some insurances need a referral from your family doctor before they will pay for this. Then, by all means - make an appointment.

Will going to a dermatologist really work?

I have really bad acne, all over my face. And sometimes is get unbelievable. So, i was wondering, instead of just using over the counter creams etc that don't work, will going to a dermatologist actually work? I'm really tired of acne. I can't remember the last time I had clean skin. I must have been in 8. I'm 16 now.

    :l

Thanks :DWill going to a dermatologist really work?
I'll tell you the truth. Don't go. dermatologists don't work. All they do is make you pay a lot of money for stuff that doesn't work. All they do is guess, even they don't know what causes acne. Will going to a dermatologist really work?
A dermatologist is your best bet. I also have had bad acne and i used to try everything over the counter like proactive, clearsil, clean and clear... etc. Anyways my doctor prescribed me tazorac and a antibiotic minocyline. They have worked wonders. The antibiotic kills bacteria internally that causes acne. Tazorac can possibly make your acne worse at first because it is pulling out pimples from under your skin that have not reached the skin surface yet, but it they would have came out eventually anyways.

So after those pimples heal ( which tazorac speeds up the healing process) you should not get anymore pimples.

I would also advise making sure your face is clean using a good cleanser 2-3 times a day. I use neutrogena foam wash which works great !

    Hope this helps :)
i went to the doctor and they prescribed me retin-a. now i don't have as much acne as before but i have markd left over which will fade over time and retin-a also helps with that.

i aslo tried over the counter products and they didn't do much. so if i were you i would go to the doctor.
Yes, going to a dermatologist will most definitely work. I used to waste money buying over-the-counter products, but when nothing worked. I headed over to a dermatologist and he was able to prescribe me a cream that actually works.

    Good luck! [:
go to the doctor and ask for a Benza Clin prescription

it's a benynzol peroxide gel that will really help clear up your acne
Head there at the very least there are a few things they can try.

It should help - especially if nothing over the counter helped.

How much a dermatologist charges you for an inspection of genital warts?

If you ask him nicely the dermatologist will show you his genital warts for nothing. How much a dermatologist charges you for an inspection of genital warts?
depends on where you live, what an odd question! How much a dermatologist charges you for an inspection of genital warts?
Well it was a rash on my arms but I think it would be the same thing. A dermatologist is a specialist so it depends on your insurance if you have any. I had to pay $80 with this crap and the co-pays going up.
Why don't you go to your Personal Doctor. They will know and he/she is cheaper than a dermatologist. They will also know exactly how to treat them. Dermatologists are specialist, therefore, cost you more. Doctors know about things like that though, too.
I hate to answer with a question, but how much would you pay to see and smell other complete stranger's genitals? Take that number and multiple it by 100, which is at least the number of times the doctor had to do the exam for free while in training for 10 years, and then you will come close to the dollar figure the dermatologist should charge.

How much does your mechanic charge per hour? How about your plumber? Interesting that they went to vocational school. Your dermatologist had at least 8 years of training AFTER college. And what they do can save your life. It's not fair, but someone has to look at these problems and I, as a dermatologist have given my life to such a task. And you have the audacity to ask me what is a fair charge????

How do you diagram/label the word dermatologist?

dermatologist is a noun, so it put into a sentence diagram as a subject, direct object, or object of a preposition. It depends on the context.

    As a subject, ';My dermatologist is great.';

    As a direct object, ';You should see my dermatologist';

greek ';derma'; means skin...How do you diagram/label the word dermatologist?
Dermatologist is a noun describing a skin doctor. It depends on where in the sentence in falls as to how it's diagrammed. In a sentence such as ';The dermatologist agreed to see her';, the word is the simple subject and would be on the main line, separated from the verb ';agreed'; with a line between, and with ';the'; (adj) off it. In a sentence like ';She visited the dermatologist';, it's a direct object and should extend from the verb (visited).

Two types of acne scars exist; the first type is usually a spot of skin that is brown, pink or purple in color indicating that a pimple has been in that area of your skin. The second type of acne is known as an “ice pick” scar and it is the small hole you sometimes see on your skin where the lesion used to occupy. Inflamed lesions, such as cysts, pustules, or nodules are the major culprits in causing acne scars.

How often should you visit the dermatologist to have cleaning? (removing of blackheads, pimples, whiteheads)?

Is cleaning by trained people in anyway bad?How often should you visit the dermatologist to have cleaning? (removing of blackheads, pimples, whiteheads)?
If your constantly having a massive breakout and just cleaning of your skin regularly doesn't help. Then you might want to visit them. They could tell you better and possible make scheduled visits. If your still new to the breakout scene. Its nothing big, just mother natures way of saying welcome to becoming an adult. For the most part, acne and the such is stress related. The more stress in your life, the more likely your going to break out. The whole if you eat chocolate or to many sweets and your going to break out thing is just a myth. If it were true, I would of needed a mask on some days. Wash your face and if you got it. Put a little witch hazel in a cotton pad or ball and wipe your face down. Help keep the dirt and oils from clogging your pores. Granted, I am no dermatologist and I don't know how bad it is. So I am just going off of experience.

Is there any way to reduce inflamatory acne without help from a dermatologist?

Every where I read It says to go to a dermatologists....but I don't have any money? Is there any way to reduce inflamatory acne without help from a dermatologist?
Inflammatory means that it is infected and you need antibiotics.

However if you don't have money you can't get a prescription for very cheap.

Anyway, you just have to get the over the counter stuff, Clearasil, use as directed... It isn't going to work as well as antibiotics (however the use of antibiotics is debated anyway)

The over the counter stuff is the same as the prescription stuff, just not as TOUGH.. i mean it isn't as strong, doesn't have the same concentration. It will still dry out your skin but stick with it. Don't use any lotions on it. Your skin will adapt. It may also get worse before it gets better.

If you've already tried the over the counter stuff, try another kind.. there are different kinds of main ingredients in them. Also make sure you are trying one for weeks, don't give up on one.

How do you get moles off your back without going to a dermatologist?

i have some big moles on my back and i was wondering how to get rid of them without going to a dermatologist? How do you get moles off your back without going to a dermatologist?
I, as a MLT, nurse, and victim of skin cancer, implore you to see a dermatologist about mole removal. Allow a trained professional to remove your moles. They may be removed by a biopsy alone in some cases. ALWAYS have an unwanted mole biopsied before removal. It may be costly but it's well worth the cost. Something like Melanoma is very difficult to detect once a mole is removed w/o a biopsy. Melanoma is the most deadly of all skin cancers. But detected early the cure rate is usually 100%. Please take my advice. Best of luck to you.How do you get moles off your back without going to a dermatologist?

    This site would explain all!!
I heard if you put duct tape on them for like a month and then pull it off, it peels like a banana. Or is that a wart (i dont remember) I haven't tried it though. Don't listen to the other guy though. Cutting it of you just scar your skin or make it worse. Plus you could have skin cancer i'd have a doctor check it out.
believe it or not... my younger brother had one on his chest, he grabbed a can of EASY OFF oven spray... sprayed the area very well and left it sit. It scabbed over and has begun to heal and although it left a small scar it removed what he wanted it to.

I dont think this is the wisest method .. but there you go...
Unless you are a big fan of getting cancer on the largest organ on your body you can't. Shell out the copay and go to the doctor. If you don't have insurance apply for some and wait out the moles on your back until you have the insurance.
id cut them off... but i heard they come back
seriously... just get a knife and get to it. drink something intoxicating before hand and have some towels or paper for the blood. if you don't want to do that.... go to the dermatologist because moles can also be signs of skin cancer.
I'm not sure you can...Don't moles have roots deep in the skin or something, so even if you get the top off it'll still be underneath.

I'm so sorry about your brother. I hope that he is doing ok. I had done a paper on skin cancer/melanoma back in high school and wrote about the seriousness of the disease and how tanning beds are even worse than getting a tan from the actual sun. In order to become a dermatologist, one must attend medical school. First one must take pre-med courses which are pretty heavy in the sciences including biology, chemistry, biochem, organic chemistry and math and other prerequisites and then (I believe after obtaining a bachelor's degree) applying to several medical schools since the application process is highly competitive. It's awesome how you have a personal interest in the field since you have dealt with it first-hand. Bless you!How long do you have to go to school to become a dermatologist in Iowa? What schools in Iowa?
First you need to get a bachelors degree in biology or health science. This will take four years and you can go to almost any 4-year college in Iowa. Then you need to go to graduate/medical school and that should take you four years plus and internship after you finish. The best place to go to for that would the University of Iowa.

I'm currently seeing a doctor in the bay area [california] who graduated from Harvard that goes by the name of Dr. David Laub, but before I spend thousands of dollars on procedures [specifially laser skin resurfacing,] I'd like other options. What should I do if I want to find a really good dermatologist?
find one that can prescribe you accutane. i had acne for years and im clean as can be now after taking accutane 5 months ago. I highly recommend it. What should I do if I want to find a really good dermatologist?
Acne forms when sebum (skin oil) and bacteria become trapped in follicles in the skin. Blemishes appear when these oils prevent the skin from naturally shedding which may be in the form of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or cysts. Severe cases of acne will often leave indentations or scars on the skin.

What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?

    i'm just wondering...

what does a dermatologist do that is different from a doctor when looking at acne etcetera. What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?
A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in skin conditions. If your regular doctor has already treated your skin condition but you haven't had any improvement, it's worth seeing a dermatologist. What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?
a dermatologist is a doctor that specialized in college treating skin conditions, things like acne, and skin diseases
A dermatologist is specially for the skin and a Doctor is for the human body.
They both have medical degrees, but a dermatologist is a SPECIALIST in skin concerns and skin diseases etc.
A ';derm'; they call it for short specializes specifically with skin and your face. Like acne, skin damage, mole removal tp prevent cancer. A regular doctor doesnt ';specilize'; in anything so they basically only have a summery of everything. Derms can also give you stuff for soriasis they can burn off your stretch marks and more.
A dermatologist has about 4 years of training in their specialty, while a General Practitioner does not. They know more about skin, while your regular Dr. knows about the whole body, but not in the detail that specialists do. Dermatilogists are more up to date on treatments, and can recognize skin conditions easier than a regular Dr. because that's all they do.

    Hopefully this helps ya!
Exactly what everyone here has mentioned. They also specialize in the skin that's considered the scalp.
A dermatologist is a doctor that specializes in skin and such.
Divide the word on its meaning. ';derma'; it means ';skin'; %26amp; ';logist'; means ';study';. So, ';dermatologist'; it means ';skin'; to ';study';. doctor means down on cash %26amp; take or rest (joke). Doctor means to do medication.
The dermatologist specializes in skin problems, pimples, blachheads, whiteheads, and most importantly, skin cancer.
A dermatologist is specially qualified for treating %26amp; diagnosing skin diseases, acne, etc. They do JUST skin. You know?

Doctors do everything, like colds, pregnancy etc, but arent specially trained like a dermo.
Traditionally, a dermatologist is a physician MD who specializes in disorders of the skin.

There are many kinds of doctors: MD physicians, NDs, Chiropractors, PhDs, etc, etc, with many specialties.

I have a mole on my back that just popped up and I was wondering if anyone knew about how much it might cost of average to see a dermatologist about getting this mole examined and removed? How much too see a dermatologist about a mole dissection without insurance?
You can easily check your minimal health care rates in internet, for example here - healthplans.my-age.netHow much too see a dermatologist about a mole dissection without insurance?
Dermatologist are kinda expensive. Just your first office visit could cost from 100.00 to 150.00 probably in the area you live in. Call some offices and just see what first visit would be, and ask if you could set it up on a payment plan, but pay something down. Also some doctors are under indigent care programs with the hospitals. Ask about that also when you call. You could be eligble for this, its all according to your income. Good Luck.
It would probably cost a hefty some. In fact, I don't even think some dermatologists will see you if you don't have insurance. Maybe try a free local clinic within your area. Some states have rules and regulations that a doctor cannot deny you medical care if you enter an emergency room.

or do I have to go to a dermatologist? How do they remove it? Do they numb it before? I have insurance but I assume it doesn't cover even though its irritated by clothes all the time so about how much do they charge? Thanks again! Can my small skin tag be removed by my primary doctor or do I have to go to a dermatologist?
Some family doctors will remove them and some won't. Call the office and ask. If he will do it, go there. If not, go to a dermatologist. He can snip it off, with or without numbing it (depending on the size). He would do it with sterile scissors. Also, depending on the size, he could use a numbing topical or a numbing injection. It will take a matter of seconds. I have no idea what he would charge as the cost would vary from doctor to doctor and state to state but it would not be much. If you have insurance, all but your co-pay would cover the cost.

I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

I have milia on my face and extremely dry skin. I'm wanting to visit a dermatologist and try and get my milia removed (they are just white bumps on the skin not white heads) how much would it be for me to just have a consultation? How much would it be for me to go to a dermatologist?
How much would it be for me to go to a dermatologist?
In Australia, they charge around $130 each consultation, but if you have Medicare, under a pension, recieve payments from Centrelink, it is only $25.
depends on the dermatalogist and where. Google dermatologists in your zip code then start calling to see how much an initial consultation is if you don't have insurance.
aesteticians can remove I believe with laser... places that offer beautification processes offer FREE consulatations. If you go to a derm it is an office visit I assume, which varies.

Do you think a dermatologist can cure my acne?

I have tried all the supermarket products and the seem to work for a small amount of time but then the acne just starts coming back, maybe my skin become immune to it, same story with Proactiv it worked for a wee while but now we are back at square one. Can a dermatologist really cure acne or is that just wishful thinking, and what sort of things can they prescribe?Do you think a dermatologist can cure my acne?
    HI Jake

Take your chances on the dermatologist, but here are some facts.

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood and removing excess waste from the body.

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.';

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.';

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

    Natural Cures

    1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

    2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.

    3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

    4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

    5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

Best of health to youDo you think a dermatologist can cure my acne?
Your regular doc can cure acne. See your regular doc to get on antibiotics to help control the staph bacteria that causes acne. Acne is caused by the staph bacteria that comes to fight off the dirt and oil that clogs your pores. Tetracycline or Doxycycline will help get the staph bacteria under control.
    yes they can help you
yes. go to the dermatologist. thats what they're there for. they'll probably prescribe you some creams or send you to do some treatments
They probably can cure it better than anyone else, since that's a specialty they spent years learning about!!

They may prescribe medications, or daily routines of washing, or a treatment like with a machine of some type, or a surgical type of cure, depending on the extent of the problems.
A Dermatologist would be the best next step if you do all you can and nothing works. You also might want to consult a nutritionist because what you eat makes a big difference in how your face looks in this regard. SO, make that appointment with the best dermatologist in town and get going!!

    Good Luck
Well, I am 45, but when I was your age ( I am guessing you are much younger) I went to the dermatologist and he put me on antibiotics and did this thing with this huge Q-Tip and dipped it into dry ice and gently rubbed it on my acne. And I had it EVERYWHERE. My back, chest, face, you name it. I take it for granted now, because ironically I use products to make my skin more supple and moist! Proactiv IS good but I've heard the same things you have. I'm positive that dermatologists can do MUCH better things than they did when I was your age. I'd go for it. Good luck!
It can be successfully treated. Usually they will start an antibiotic (doxycycline) that you would take by mouth along with other cleansing products for you to use topically. They will probably also give you a cream (tretinoin) to use topically. This regimen usually works, but you have to be consistent with the protocol. Unfortunately, it may take some time.
    I Need to see one..
yes i do.Cause i went to one and it worked.:]]

They Will give you a perscription
Absolutely...a dermatologist can do WONDERS !! Seriously !

I had terrible ACNE when I was a teenager (1980s) ...and the supermarket products did SQUAT !!...Subsequently, a dermatologist prescribed Benzamycin (a white cream) that I would apply during the morning....and it would DRY up the oily pimples, blackheads, starting sores..(could even tell the cream was applied). Retin-A (a Vitamin A) supplement for night...also helped penetrate the skin since Vitamin A is a great vitamin for the skin...which the SUN can apply, but NOT today, due to the harmful ultra-violet rays..!! My ACNE cleared fairly quickly within a month or so, but I had to take it for about 4-8 yrs...Then it stopped, since the body (on average) changes every 7 years in one's life. !

BTW, DO NOT PICK AT YOUR PIMPLES (ACNE)...DO NOT POP THEM, they WILL CAUSE SCARS (scarring for the future)... Nobody could EVER tell that I had HORRIBLE ACNE..since I am 37 now ! I have baby skin (LOL)...

BUT, that dermatologist had me coming back...so I would be REPEAT business for her practice... she then moved to California...and another doctor said he COULD have had the ACNE go immediately...using Accu-tane(sp?), but I needed a blood test for tri-glycerides...because Accutane would raise them...and possibly be a threat to my health via chloresterol, etc.. !

Remember ... this was about 15 yrs ago...so there may be better products...but it worked PERFECTLY for me...! Those info-mercials...and drug %26amp; supermarket products ....s----c000kkdkf !! A dermatologist will help, but educate yourself with asking questions... YOU are the client(customer) NOT them !!

    E-nuf...good luck
Best doc to go to for this problem.
i know people who went to derms for years and years and many bucks later their skin looked no differently.--Try washing your face and then using a toner (they have toners for men or women--besides its the same product just package changes) try eliminating some of the caffeine from your diet --including coffee and pop, only eat chocolate in moderation and you can even try wiping your face b/4 bed with peroxide on a cotton ball. Hope this works for you, we all know what its like to some extent.
Yes they can.....they will probably start with Retin A....then move you on to less intensive products.
Depends on what is causing your out breaks. They have new treatments that are amazing and they doctor can order higher strengths of the things that are sold over the counter.

';Cure'; may be too optimistic a word, but control is absolutely possible.

Ask your primary care physician who s/he recommends or go to the ADA website, below, and follow their instructions for finding a board certified dermatologist in your area.

    Best wishes,

    Mariam

(40 years of acnes and still in the fight.)
Of course a dermatologist can cure acne! That is part of what they are trained to do. And it may cost even less than Proactiv.
    yes of course!!

    thats why they are dermatologist!

my bf is going to one and they gave him meds to take cuz proactiv wasnt enough...

but his acne is starting to go away..slowly but its working.

    they know what there doing.

    :)
No, nothing can be done about it. What the doctor can do is to prescribe you some medication but the problem will come back again. I have acne for many years. I even tried the Chinese herbal medicine. It still didn't work. I would suggest you try Vitamin E or vitamin E lotion, it may help a little.

  • What the different between a normal nurse salary and a dermatologist's nurse salary?

What are they salariesWhat the different between a normal nurse salary and a dermatologist's nurse salary?
Try the web sites of your local hospitals. Also check the career web sites, like www.monster.com--www.about.com can link you to more career sites. I hope this helps you. What the different between a normal nurse salary and a dermatologist's nurse salary?
as someone else said... doctor's office nurses get paid less than hospital/clinical nurses because the hours are 8-5 monday-friday, no weekends, no holidays. also, you dont really have to provide patient care... all you're responsible for is legistics.. paper work, vital signs, etc... here in va you might make 10-12 dollars an hour in a doctor's office compared to 14-16 in a hospital/nursing home
What do you mean';normal nurse'; ??? I would think a dermatologist nurse would get paid less than say, a hospital RN. Clinic nurses generally are paid less, because the hours are better, the work less stressful etc. But I think it would depend on the doctors you are working with, and what area of the county you live in.
I suppose the main definition is whether they are employed by the NHS or not. If they are both employed by the NHS nurses (along with the majority of staff) are bound by what is known as Agenda for Change (AfC). These terms and conditions dictate salaries among other things. All nursing posts tend to start at Band 5 (拢17.5k to 拢25k). Posts with more experience and responsibility have higher paybands. Modern Matrons are banded around 8a/8b depending on the Hospital Trust and how they have evaluated the job.

The NHS Employers Website is a good place to find out more.

Should I see a dermatologist or go to a spa for skin care?

I am 25 and still have peoblems with acne. I look at my skin up close and see so many holes, whiteheads, and blackheads.I am really noticing scars lately too. My skin just looks so dull. For once I would like to have smooth, healthy looking skin. I have tried the glycolic peel, and it did help a little, but my skin still looks dull. any suggestions of what to try next? will a dermatologist help, or should i try something else such as laser tx at the spa. please help. I want to feel pretty again, and feel better about myself.Should I see a dermatologist or go to a spa for skin care?
You should definitely go and see a dermatologist, they really do help. I used to have very severe acne myself... I had whiteheads, blackheads, acne on my shoulders, chest, face and back. It was pretty bad. I tried everything even Proactiv, but that didn't even work. Whats great about the dermatologist is that they will look at your skin, and prescribe a prescription that especially suits your condition. Where as, most acne products just ';treat'; mild, general acne. I know it may take a while and a bit of effort from you (they prescribed me like 5 prescriptions when I first got there, but once you get better its only like 2), but let me tell you its all worth it. You probably can't imagine it right now, but you're only months away to clear skin. Good luck, and I hope I helped.Should I see a dermatologist or go to a spa for skin care?
    dermatologist
Definitely see a dermatologist. First, you need to clear up your acne. After that, talk to your dermatologist about what he recommends for the scars and to make your skin appear its best.
you should be scrubbing your face every day and night with clean and clear scrub and there are creams like oxy clean or pads like clean and clear scrub pads and biore nose and face strips will get rid of the black heads. you can't just get rid of pimples and stuff in like 1 day, it takes about 2 months of scrubbing and moisturizing. yes you should go to a spa every ones and a while to get facials and they will also clean out your pores and squeeze your black heads. you can also get at home masks, i find the clay ones work the best. also a doctor can give you a perscription.

How much does a dermatologist charges for an inspection of your skin?

Usually 35$. some may charge more. ask first. How much does a dermatologist charges for an inspection of your skin?
It depends on where you live, but if you don't have insurance, and you will have to pay for the visit, then your going to be looking at approx. $95 for a standard office visit (no procedures). If it turns out you need a procedure, it can be discussed with your dermatologist and you can, and should, ask the cost of the procedure before it is scheduled. To get the best for your money, do NOT see a PA (physician's assistant), do not wear any makeup ... that includes loose powder, and research to find the best trained dermatologist in your area...

    good luck!

What to major in to help me become a dermatologist?

Besides biology and chemistry. What to major in to help me become a dermatologist?
If you can't do biology and chemistry -- you won't make it as a doctor.

It is that simple. What to major in to help me become a dermatologist?
It doesn't really matter which way you want to go. What really matters if you can master yourself. If you can do this you have already won!
Major in whatever you want to major in. As long as you do those basic premedical courses, you can major in English Lit, and it wouldn't make any bit of difference as long as your science grades and MCAT scores are good. These are the things that will help you get into medical school.

Once you get into medical school, you can apply for dermatology residency programs during your third year of graduate school. Becoming a dermatologist has nothing to do with your major in college. Good luck becoming a dermatologist--it is an extremely competitive field, and many applicants from medical school are MD-PhDs nowadays (7-10 years of school after college but before residency).

No need to be flip with your addendum--your original question didn't make a whole lot of sense. People are just trying to help you, and you are being obnoxious.
Uhh, those are the two big ones.

Some medical schools will consider you even if you don't major in bio or chem, but you'll still have to have a solid background (have taken alot of courses, or minored) in these areas. But you're going to have to fight and prove why you should be chosen instead of someone who has a more appropriate background.
If you're looking for a little different angle, how about microbiology? The focus is entirely different from biology and more applicable to the medical field, and could be especially useful for dermatology. You might also consider pharmacology. You would have a jump on understanding medications and how they work. Good luck. Nice to see someone trying to stand out in the crowd.

Does what a dermatologist give you work overnight?

I'm seeing a dermatologist soon, and I want to know if the product she'll give me would work overnight. If not, than how long? I only have zits on my forehead, and it's because of my period. So.. would it work overnight?Does what a dermatologist give you work overnight?
Unfortunately no...often times, what a dermatologist gives you makes your skin appear worse before it improves. This is the case with differin specifically, which make syour skin after more red for the first few days, but in a few weeks, makes your skin look great. Nothing is going to work overnight, but definitely go to the dermatologist because it helps. But always remember that acne is caused by hormones, and when youre older, your breakouts will virtually dissapear when youre done having hormone imbalances.Does what a dermatologist give you work overnight?
Probably not. But they can adjust things and offer stronger solutions to things that aren't strong enough over the counter.

If it's hormonal they will be able to offer a few suggestions to try.

USE PRObiotics!!! Eczema is your body's problem of being unable to retain moisture in your skin. Thus, you have dry skin patches. You can use lotions which treat the symptom. If you want to treat the root causes, one which is very likely to be your skin not getting enough vitamins. Then you may want to take something like:

GNC: Digestive Health Powder(AWESOME PRODUCT). It contains prebiotics, PRObiotics and digestive enzymes that help breakdown and absorb the nutrients from your food better. All your organs improve especially the largest one that takes more vitamins... YOUR SKIN. Take a product like this for about a week. You may be VERY surprised at the improvement.

Note you should be taking a multivitamin and fish oil along with a good diet that includes fruits, veggies, lean meat, long grains and water.

Oh yeah, take warm.. not hot showers since the heat pulls more moisture out of the skin.

Probiotics helped clear up about 80% of my kid's eczema in LESS than a week. I had to do the research to find this information since all the doctors only suggested lotion that did NOT clear up the problem.

Please let me know if this worked for you.I see the dermatologist in two weeks. What can I do to keep my irritable eczema in check 'til then?
DO NOT ITCH IT! i have eczema. if you have any cream, or first aid ointment apply it when itchy. the best remedy for itchiness is anti-itch cream. if it's caused by allergies take a Benadryl but that will make you tired!!!
Diet: Eat an organic, whole foods diet and avoid potentially allergy-causing foods, especially sugar, wheat, milk, and dairy products, including yogurt. Also avoid excess consumption of fruit, especially citrus and sour, as these foods may aggravate symptoms.

Juice Therapy: The following juice combinations can help speed healing: black currant and red grapes; carrot, beet, spinach, cucumber, and parsley; and wheat grass juice.

I love the benefits from wheat grass juice.
some lotions can be irritating to the skin which when it comes in contact to the skin can trigger flare ups.

all you need is an all natural skin care moisturizer that will help moisturize the skin all day and night, protecting it from any damage and irritants as well as can promote skin healing.

try to not to scratch the infected area even if itching unbearable. keep the skin hydrated by drinking lots of water. have proper diet to boost immune system in fighting the disease. try not to wear rough and scratchy clothes and make sure that clothing is not tight. try to avoid skin irritants and perfumed skin care. make sure the foods you eat are considered healthy. watch out diet. do not do things that can easily make you sweat.

*Try the natural way! Aloe Vera has been used to treat eczema however because it鈥檚 not a drug it cannot be prescribed therefore doctors will not tell you the costly truth. I have a natural product for you; Aloe Vera Gelly. This intensive moisturizing gel soothes dry, chapped, or damaged skin with the penetrating power of 100% stabilized Aloe vera. Perfect to help you keep or regain that soft, smooth skin you were born with! don鈥檛 just take my word for it, ask your doctor and look into his eye when you do and ask yourself why they didn鈥檛 tell you the natural way first/ protect yourself. God bless you. We will send you free samples, I鈥檒l even pay the shipping too, If you request it from Leticia my wife on her site and let her know I told on yahoo answers
You can use an allergy pill to help stop the itching and also hydrocortisone cream 2% from a drug store. This may sound really gross but when my husband gets really bad in his groin area; I used what I used on the kids when they were babies and it worked! Desidin and cornstarch. Use dove sensitive skin care products. They have shampoo too. Use no perfume and die laundry soap and no drier sheets. I hope it helps and that the allergy medication gets you some much needed sleep. My husband can only take it at night because he works in a furniture factory and must be alert. So you may want to do the same. But try all the other stuff. I wish you luck because that isn't any fun. :(

What can I expect if I go to a dermatologist?

I have annoying, wide spread, sometimes painful, red, itchy, imflammatory ACNE. It's the worst annoyance. I've probably tried every cleanser/acne wash etc etc there is, including Proactiv, and nothing works! If I go to a dermatologist, what can I expect him/her to do for me? Will she just recommend that I go and buy a cleanser?

I want to clear and prevent breakouts,

what will a dermatologist do when I go to one? What can I expect if I go to a dermatologist?
I had the same problem in high school and a couple years after. I used to go to the dermatologist and get ';chemical peels';. Basically, they put this acidic chemical on your face. Burns a little but not too bad. Then they spray you with liquid nitrogen to cool your face down and stop the chemical reaction. Over the next few days your face peels a little, like you would with a minor sunburn. It seemed to help a little, but not long term.

Finally I wound up trying Accutane and it worked miraculously. Within 2-3 months I was almost completely cleared up. The only thing that remained was the scaring from years of bad skin and an occasional small blemish, hardly even noticable. It's a dangerous drug though. You have to be very aware of the possible side effects of the drug. They monitor your blood once a month while taking it, and you can only take it for 6 months.

The doctors took me off of it before my final month because of something wrong with my blood results. It had been long enough to get me cleared up though. I'm fine now and very happy that I took the chance, and even more so that I was lucky enough to not have hurt my health.

I know what you're going through, and feel for you. Good luck! What can I expect if I go to a dermatologist?
A good dermatologist will tell what they can do for you . If you don't like it try another.
Not just sex but for housekeeping, child care, and a variety of other tasks.
I think we have the same acne problem

i have an aoppointment with the dermatologist this monday

    i tried everything....just like you

3 weeks ago it used to look really ugly....now that im starting to drink more water,do more exercise and having less erection....it seems to slowly going away.

but im not sure if thats is the case, im still going to see a dermotalogist and continue of what I believe that is going away.
Write you a prescription to clear it up and help fend it off. Don't worry people see him for allot worse things. Judy
She/he may be able to write you a prescription or suggest a cleanser you may not have tried or even heard of. I went to a dermatologist once for my acne.I have acne, but it's not as bad as it was, when I was a teen. I'm 20 now. It still is a problem with me due to sweating at work and hormones, mainly it is hormones. Try washing your face once in the morning and then once at night. Some people say that drinking more water, can help your skin. Don't overdo it though.I also have eczema, which, I may need to go to the dermatologist for, if it does not get better. Crazy that I have one condition caused by oil and another has dry skin, isn't it?
they will try to help...and they are very nice and polite too.... but from my expeiriences use the Pro Active Solution.. it is amazing and i have been using it for four years now and i have the clearest skin ever! so dont go to the dermotologist and get the Pro Active Solution!!!
Seriously, I totally know how you feel. I feel that a dermatologist can cost a lot and waste your time, but that is just my experience. I highly recommend trying the products at the Kavi Skincare solutions site. The coral soap and the acid treatments once a week along with some kind of Benzoyl Peroxide gel during the day is what helps

  • Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control?

I'm nearly 22 and have had acne since I was 14. I have tried literally everything- but it's stubborn and is caused by my hormones. I heard/read that birth control is very effective in treating hormonal acne, and was wondering if a derm can prescribe it. I also have extremely sensitive skin, and it is also very, very dry. I cannot use Benz. Peroxide or any other drying products. Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control?
You wouldn't be the first one to be prescribed birth control for that problem. As long as your dermatologist is a doctor, then he/she should be able to prescribe it to you. Hope it works for you:)Can a dermatologist prescribe birth control?
im pretty sure a dermatologist cant prescribe it, they may recommend it but cant prescribe it due to the fact that you have to have a well-womans exam to be prescribed bc. Which you should be doing yearly anyhow if your 22. Good luck!
im not sure if a dermatologist can prescribe birth control but if you have a chat with them they might tell you to go to you doctor with a letter from themselves and a pill that will help you hun **** luck
yes the derm will recommend it, but an obgyn will need to examine you first before prescribing it . but if you are 22 you should be getting your annual done 1x year.
Mine gave prescribed me birth control when I had to go on accutane. Dermatologists are doctors so of course they can give you birth control if it relates to acne.
    Masturbation cleared up my complexion.

I don't see why a dermatologist can't prescribe birth control.
You need to ask you dermatologist about that.
yes they can. this is one of the ways that they treat it.its very effective.
lol I dont tihnk so. Idont see how its related for them to be able to prescribe but call and ask

What college course do i need to take to be a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist?

What college course do i need to take to be a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist at the same time ? and what major ?????

    thanks in advance ^__^

have a nice day!!What college course do i need to take to be a cosmetic surgeon and dermatologist?
To become any type of surgeon, or to become a dermatologist, you need to first get a 4 year B.A. You'll have to go pre-med, and get into med school. After you go to med school, and get your M.D., you'll have to go through a residency training. The surgery residency takes about 8 years.

What the different between a nurse and a dermatologist's nurse?

What the different between a nurse and a dermatologist's nurse?

Is it the same? or what? What the different between a nurse and a dermatologist's nurse?
If someone calls themselves a nurse they have to be a registered nurse. A dermatologist's nurse sounds like someone the dermatologist bought! The level of knowledge of dermatology isn't clear at all. If in doubt ask whether the nurse has any particular qualifications in dermatology. Relevant ones would be old ENB courses and newer university validated courses. Experience may also be relevant, they may have no other qualifications but be really up to date and skilled. Or they may be just qualified, hired by a dermatologist and know very little. If in doubt ask. The first question is are you a registered nurse, if the answer is no, report them to the NMC (Nursing and MIdwifery Council) for impersonating a nurse. What the different between a nurse and a dermatologist's nurse?
i think a dermotologist nurse specialises in skin conditions
A dermatologist's nurse is a specialist that has been to college and studying surgery, rheumatology etc. It take's a long time to be one because you have to be trained in 1 special subject.
a nurse is able to look after most illnesses, a dermatalogical nurse will specialise in skin complaints

    goodie barbor
they are both the same only the dermatologist specialises in the skin and Deals with patients with skin disorders
one is a standard ward nurse the other specialises in skin disorders.

After qualifying a nurse like a doctor can continue to train and learn about a specialised subject be it Skin, midwife, etc etc and god bless them all
One is a general nurse, the other is qualified in all aspects of skin disorders =dermatology.
A ';dermatologist Nurse'; works for a ';dermatologist'; Doctor. She has went to nursing school. As all nurses do. This just means that the Dermatologist hired her on. She does have more exp. that a nurse would that worked in Labor, and delivery. Or a E.R Nurse.

    Good Luck

What kind of doctor do you go see about sweat problems? Regular Doctor or dermatologist?

What kind of doctor do you go see about sweat problems? Regular Doctor or dermatologist? What kind of doctor do you go see about sweat problems? Regular Doctor or dermatologist?
Dermatologist. They can give you a prescription for a deodorant that you can only get at the pharmacy. I've heard that it helps a lot of people that sweat to much. Good Luck :-)What kind of doctor do you go see about sweat problems? Regular Doctor or dermatologist?
Sweating too much? You can see a dermatologist, but should have your primary care doctor take a look at you as well. It could involve your endocrine system. Simple blood work can rule this out.

Can a dermatologist help with you with other body parts?

How much would an uninsured visit to a dermatologist and skin cancer removal cost?

I believe I have skin cancer and no insurance how much should it cost overall? visit(s) removal ect.?How much would an uninsured visit to a dermatologist and skin cancer removal cost?
Removal would cost a few thousand. But your treatment most likely wouldn't end there.

My husband had cancer a few years ago, and the insurance paid out over 100,000 for the entire treatment.

My biggest suggestion would be to call up your general practitioner and ask how much a regular visit would be, tell them your concerns, and let them know that you don't have insurance. They should be able to do a check up on you and give you a referral if needed. That way if it isn't something to worry about, its alot less to see them than a specialist.

MOST oncologists will be able to give you great information on the available assistance to help you cover the costs. My husbands gave us information on assistance ranging from helping with the bills, to helping buy food. They are generally extremely helpful! Just make sure to be clear with each Dr. you see that you do not have insurance and will need assistance.

Most of all, Don't wait. If you are truly worried, you need to go and see a Dr. asap!

Good Luck! How much would an uninsured visit to a dermatologist and skin cancer removal cost?
Unless you have a melanoma requiring complicated MOHS surgery in a hospital setting then all of these estimates in the thousands of dollars are way, way off. In a typical year I will have at least a half dozen individual suspected skin cancers removed by my dermatologist so I think I can give an accurate answer to your question.

It depends on what type of skin cancer and how large the lesion is. Since most people can not tell if they actually have a skin cancer or not there is a very high chance that what you suspect to be a skin cancer will not be. If the suspected lesion is not cancerous then you will only need a single appointment.

For the sake of a cash figure, let's say you do have a typical small basal or squamous cell carcinoma. You will probably pay between 85. and 125. to see the dermatologist. If he thinks your lesion is possibly anything dangerous then he'll take a biopsy sample right away. For this he might charge you a Surgery fee of an additional 90. to 195. dollars depending on the degree of complexity or he might just include this biopsy in with his initial fee. If the lesion removed was small then most likely he will remove the entire lesion at once and maybe put in a few stitches or maybe no stitches.

OK, biopsy taken, now comes the pathologist fee. Cost here depends on whether the dermatologist reads his own biopsies, or sends the biopsy out to a pathologist affiliated with a local hospital chain, or sends the biopsy out to a third party pathologist. The third party pathologist will be the most expensive at around 125. for the first sample and less for each additional sample. If the derm reads his own biopsies then he may or may not charge a pathology fee. So basically, depending on how the derm has his biopsies read can cost you from zero to 125. for a single sample. Often the third party pathologist billing will be on a secondary billing mailed to you at a later date. Ask in advance to clarify your potential pathology costs. It sucks big time to get 5-6 lesions removed and then get hit out of the blue with an unexpected 350. pathologist's bill 2 months after you see the dermatologist.

Your results come back and are negative. No additional care needed. Your cost runs from about 200. to 325. maximum including the pathologist's fee and if you are lucky as little as 125. cash for a single sample that comes back as benign.

If results come back as cancer then cost will depend on whether or not you will need a second surgery to enlarge margins. This is often not necessary and you will usually be told at first appt. if the Dr suspects you will need a second procedure done or not. If you need a second procedure this will involve a second office call and another surgery charge. or around 250-300. If you get stitches then clarify if there is any charge for the nurse to remove them or not. Usually there is not a charge.

So the answer is for a biospy and removal of a single cancerous lesion the cost will be between 225 and 450. The cost for a superificial or in situ melanoma will be similar but towards the higher end since a second surgery will almost certainly be needed along with a professional pathology report and grading.

You could lower your costs by one third or so if before your appt. you sought out the Dr's office manager and told her that you were a cash patient and offered to pay cash immediately for a reduced or discounted fee. Offer to pay in cash the same amount the Dr would normally receive from an insured patient covered by Blue Cross or some other large local insurer. It can not hurt to try and negotiate and will probably cut your bill dramatically assuming you had at least 2-300. in hand for immediate payment towards the Drs services. Remember, what a Dr charges vs what insurance actually pays him is often a much smaller amount so getting an agreement in advance for him to to accept in cash the same amount as insurance pays him can not help but to work well in your favor.

If you want an answer for a more complicated skin cancer cost situation then re ask your question with all the various specifics included.
ALOT its cancer removal, it would probably range in the thousands for removing it
About $10,000 or more im nt sure

  • There is no more fluid in a blister on my foot, should I cut off the dead skin myself, or see a dermatologist?

I burned my foot walking on concrete a few weeks ago (don't ask) and now the fluid is all gone out of my blister. Is it okay for me to cut off the dead skin, or should I go see a dermatologist for professional help? There is no more fluid in a blister on my foot, should I cut off the dead skin myself, or see a dermatologist?
Let it fall off naturally. That skin is there to protect the new skin beneath and prevent further infection. Burns are more complicated than other sorts of blisters. Removing the skin yourself increases the risk of scarring an infection. You don't want to be walking around on tender raw skin.

You can use Aquaphor and cover it with a bandage to loosen the dead skin if you like. Just don't remove it manually and never use anything sharp on yourself.

If the burn was extensive or you have real concerns, yes, you should see a physician.

I have never been to see a Dermatologist before.

So I was just wondering, just to get something checked out about my skin and to get some advice on my skin, would the Dermatologist charge me for it?Does it cost to just go see a Dermatologist?
well, it depends upon your insurance, if it is covered or not, look in the yellow pages and call a few and ask themDoes it cost to just go see a Dermatologist?
Yeah, they spent all that money going to college and opening an office just so they can sit there all day and wait for idiots like you to walk in and get advice for free! DUH get a brain!
I think it depends on your insurance. Also, you might need to get a referral because some insurance companies consider a dermatologist to be a specialist.
if he has to do something or check u in any way, Yes he will charge for it... Better have a good health insurance company!

    good luck!
Yeah it would and Dematologists are usually expensive. Go see a primary physician and ask for a referall!
Yes and you would need to get a referral from your doctor. If the condition is not too serious, a chemist will give you advice for free
every doctor on the planet charges you for his time.
my cost is 15 bucks,,a co pay on my blue cross.............it depends....if no insurance...anywhere from 15 to 300 per visit...

    es they can

please go see a good one so they can help you out here

    thank you

you coould be laacking in vitiman b6 so start taking it aand look aat your diet
yap, you can consult them. There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

    http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/11鈥?/a>

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

鈥owdered fenugreek and milk are said to tackle dark circles. Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.

鈥ake a teaspoon of tomato juice, a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder (if you are not allergic to it) and a little flour, enough to make a paste.

    http://www.mydarkcirclesblog.com/2006/12鈥?/a>
:) I'm sure you are really pretty. There are already beauty products out there that will help reduce these dark circles but a dermatologist will defiantly be able to help. In the mean time buy a good concealer and foundation until it starts to work. I liked the other answer about the vitamins aswel. You've got nothing to lose.
. dermatologests(a physician who specializes in diseases and care of the skin) can do wonders, (Almost everyone gets dark circles under their eyes from time to time. Dark circles under eyes usually are temporary and not a medical concern.

You may be surprised to learn that fatigue usually isn't the cause of dark circles. Instead, the most common cause is nasal congestion. When your nose is congested, veins that usually drain from your eyes into your nose become widened (dilated) and darker.. In addition, dark circles can result from chronic skin conditions, such as atopic eczema. Dark circles can also run in families.) so they just might go away on there own. but there are a variety of creams that you can get online to that will work. or you can just get them from a store.Over-the-counter products may help diminish dark circles under eyes. Look for skin creams that contain vitamin C or K, alpha hydroxy acid and kinetin. Treatment for chronic and severe undereye circles is directed at the underlying cause, if known, and may include bleaching agents and laser therapy.

Should I go to my doctor or a dermatologist for this thing on my skin?

I've had it for a while, and it's similar to a birthmark, but I haven't had it since birth. It's always bothered me because it's on my shoulder and it is big. I don't really know what it is, but I do want to remove it. So should I go to my regular doctor or a dermatologist?Should I go to my doctor or a dermatologist for this thing on my skin?
It depends on your insurance provider. but ultimately you'll probably end up at a dermatologist. Some insurance plans require a referral from you primary physician to see a specialist. Sometimes you can make an appointment directly with the dermatologist. Check with you primary care physician first.Should I go to my doctor or a dermatologist for this thing on my skin?
Since it's a skin problem, it's best to see a dermatologist, unless your insurance plan requires you to see your regular doctor first, for a referral to a specialist. The majority of the time, a regular doctor won't know what it is.
You need to go to your regular doc first have him check it out and if it really bothers you he/she could send you to have it removed by laser.
If you are in the UK you will have to see your GP first. He / she will take a look at it and if they are concerned may refer you to a dematologist or they may treat it themselves if they think it needs treating.

    x
if your only symptom is that thing on your skin, go to a dermatologist. otherwise, see a primary care physician.

Usually the amount is double the cost. If patient uses 1/3 of the bottle, (normal amount for a paitent in their 30's), cost is around $350 give or take. In some areas, the cost can be more reasonable due to high competition or not many Botox users in area. Hope this helps!

How do i get rid of millia seeds without having to visit a dermatologist?

    that sounds pretty nasty...

i dont know, wash your face. How do i get rid of millia seeds without having to visit a dermatologist?
am unsure what millia seed is .... if you mean those little white ';fish eggs'; ? It's easy (slightly painful at first)... get some surgical needles from the pharmacy, wash fash clean, stand in front of a mirror, use 2 fingers to press beside each seed, prick it with the needle till the seed leaves the skin. And dab off the bloody mess with sterile cotton wool. I do this myself whenever I see any seed - so far so goodHow do i get rid of millia seeds without having to visit a dermatologist?
What is ';milla seeds?'; Can't find any info on it.
milia is what it is called and they are better known as whiteheads... you can schedule a facial and ask if the esthetician can remove them for you( i would not try to remove them myself) or let the derm do it ...insurance might cover it ( ask)... they are difficult to remove and must be extracted after the skin is softened with steam and/or a low pH product...usually a 26 gauge( sterile) needle is used or a lancet( small needle used by diabetics etc- sterile) to open the pore and the contents are extracted with wooden handled q tips in a clockwise manner as to not bruise the surrounding skin... keep milia at bay by washing your face twice a day and using a toner to keep perspiration off your face which sometimes contributes to these rascals...
I wish I knew. They drive me crazy! I have asked a dermatologist before about this, but they always seem to avoid the answer. (I have EB - Epidermolysis Bullosa.)

Most of the time, I ignore the millia but some of them are so deep, they are actually painful and feel almost like the core of a corn or something. I usually sterilise a pin and dig them out myself. I know this opens me to infection, but I know of no other way.

I'll be starring this so I can keep an eye on the answers. I hope you get many! :)

PS: Millia are neither whiteheads or syringomas. Millia are hard white ';seeds'; that form under the skin and can appear anywhere on the body, even on knuckles etc.

Milia are deep seeded white bumps that form when skin cells become trapped rather than exfoliate naturally. The trapped cells become walled off into tiny cysts that appear like white beads below the surface of the skin. Milia can occur on the skin or even on mucous membranes such as the inner surface of the cheek or the vermillion border of the lips.

As the surface is worn away, the tiny cyst may resolve on its own. Far too often, though, intervention to remove the cyst may offer more rapid resolution.

If it a prescription drug or ointment read the literature that will be given you by the pharmacist if it an OTC then read the instructions on the box or label. Drinking while internalizing any medication is never a good idea as unexpected reactions of the meds and alcohol are always possible.

A dermatologist is a medical doctor, who has specialized in skin diseases. Hence, you have to go through college, medical school, and a dermatology three year residency. In addition, most dermatology residency programs prefer that you have a medical internship and residency before you begin the derm program. In fact, many prefer that you get a PhD before you begin the program. Because dermatology is the most sought after residency program, they can be very selective on whom they select, and as a rule, they only admit students who were in the top 1% of their medical school class. The salary is dependent upon what type of derm you plan on practicing: medical, surgical, cosmetic, etc. And, I would say that as a group, we are the happiest of docs!
