What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?

i'm just wondering...

what does a dermatologist do that is different from a doctor when looking at acne etcetera. What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?
A dermatologist is a doctor who specializes in skin conditions. If your regular doctor has already treated your skin condition but you haven't had any improvement, it's worth seeing a dermatologist. What is the difference between a dermatologist and a doctor?
a dermatologist is a doctor that specialized in college treating skin conditions, things like acne, and skin diseases
A dermatologist is specially for the skin and a Doctor is for the human body.
They both have medical degrees, but a dermatologist is a SPECIALIST in skin concerns and skin diseases etc.
A ';derm'; they call it for short specializes specifically with skin and your face. Like acne, skin damage, mole removal tp prevent cancer. A regular doctor doesnt ';specilize'; in anything so they basically only have a summery of everything. Derms can also give you stuff for soriasis they can burn off your stretch marks and more.
A dermatologist has about 4 years of training in their specialty, while a General Practitioner does not. They know more about skin, while your regular Dr. knows about the whole body, but not in the detail that specialists do. Dermatilogists are more up to date on treatments, and can recognize skin conditions easier than a regular Dr. because that's all they do.

Hopefully this helps ya!
Exactly what everyone here has mentioned. They also specialize in the skin that's considered the scalp.
A dermatologist is a doctor that specializes in skin and such.
Divide the word on its meaning. ';derma'; it means ';skin'; %26amp; ';logist'; means ';study';. So, ';dermatologist'; it means ';skin'; to ';study';. doctor means down on cash %26amp; take or rest (joke). Doctor means to do medication.
The dermatologist specializes in skin problems, pimples, blachheads, whiteheads, and most importantly, skin cancer.
A dermatologist is specially qualified for treating %26amp; diagnosing skin diseases, acne, etc. They do JUST skin. You know?

Doctors do everything, like colds, pregnancy etc, but arent specially trained like a dermo.
Traditionally, a dermatologist is a physician MD who specializes in disorders of the skin.

There are many kinds of doctors: MD physicians, NDs, Chiropractors, PhDs, etc, etc, with many specialties.
