i am a senior in high school and i want to become a cosmetic dermatologist. Do i have to study pre-med in college in order to get into medical school? What are the steps to becoming a dermatologist?
You do not have to study pre-med to get in med school. If you know what med school you might go to. Look at their requirements to get in. Most require 1 yr bio, 1 yr physics, 1 yr physical chem, 1 yr organic chem, Calc. 1, anatomy. Some common majors for people going to med school usually are biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. I am an engineering student. Alot of med schools like med students who have majored in biomedical engineering. It not only teaches the fundamentals of the body, but engineers are taught to be problem solvers which really can put you ahead in med school.
