Dermatologist?

To become a dermatologist, what do you need to major in and how long do you need to study it?


Any specifically good colleges for it?


What's the starting and median salary?





Sorry about asking all these questions in this section, by the way. I've just thinking a lot lately about what career I want to pursue after I graduate from high school.

Medical School then more medical school for specialty in Dermatology. High salary. You would be a medical doctor with a specialty degree. First decide on an undergraduate course before medical school related to science.Dermatologist?
1st you have to get your undergrad degree. It doesn't matter were or what major. A science field would help start a medical mind. Most med schools have you take the required courses upon entrance. Report Abuse

Then medical school. If your GPA for undergrad is a 2.5- 2.7((lowest most, if any, school will accept)) volunteer hours at a local hospital sure looks good on the applications. Report Abuse

The whole 12 to 16 years to become a dermatologist also counts the residency.


4or more years undergraduate+ 4or more years medical school + 3or more years in dermatology residency= 11 or more years. Report Abuse

Also, during your residency, you can get paid depending on your year. Around wher I live, you can get up to 50k a year as a fourth year residency.


You also have to take a test to be a certified dermatologist! So remember that... ^w^ Report Abuse

If you want to make money while studying and be a beauty consultant do a Sam (Skin Analysis Machine) certification and you will be able to start making money immediatly. Also within 5 to 8 years time as you are dedicated to your work you can be financially free. If you are unable to get info about sam contact my wife who is sam certified and a qualified pharmacist.

i thought about becomming a dermatologist also but there is sooo much schooling you ahve to do...like 12 years or so....cant remember for sure.......good luck!! check out this website!!
