What schools should i be considering if i want to be a dermatologist?

I am a senior in high school in Illinois, and my time has come to find a school right for me. I want to become a dermatologist but I have no idea what schools i should be looking into and/or what classes i should take for undergraduate and if it even matters? What other things should i know? What schools should i be considering if i want to be a dermatologist?
It doesn't matter what college you go for your undergraduate degree as long as you fulfill the premedical requirements. Almost every school offers a pre-med program, so your choice of school should be where you're interested in going, whether it be a state school or a prestigious private school. If you're interested in majoring in science, you might want to see which schools have strong biology or chemistry departments, but you can major in something else and then apply to medical schools as well. It would be beneficial for you to take some AP or advanced level science, math, and English classes because these will help you in college and show colleges that you can handle challenging classes.

One more thing, if you're absolutely sure that you want to become a dermatologist, you should consider applying to guaranteed BA/MD programs where you can get admission to medical school from high school. You get a bachelor's degree and then your MD degree, so you're not starting with medical school right away lol. Although you can't change your mind you can avoid the stress of MCATs and the application process for medical school. hope this helps! http://services.aamc.org/currdir/section鈥?/a>What schools should i be considering if i want to be a dermatologist?
You need a background in science, and need to get through med school, since a dermatologist is a doctor specializing in skin issues.
Taranto and Hardworker gave you great advice. The only thing I'd like to add is that you have no say in the process in becoming a dermatologist until the end of med school when you start trying to match with a dermatology residency.

When you're in high school and college, just concentrate on getting into med school. Worry about what type of doctor once you get into med school.
The best schools in the country are also the best schools for pre-med. Look at any rankings of colleges and you will find the best schools for you.

Princeton Review has a tool where you tell it about your background and interests and it tells you what schools are a good fit. The link is below.
