What is it like sitting in a dermatologist's waiting room?

I'm 17 and i've had moderate acne for a couple of years. I'm thinking of asking my mom to take me to a dermatologist, but I'm just wondering: is it excruciatingly embarrassing to sit in the waiting room? It seems like there would people looking at you, knowing you were there for acne. And especially people who were there for non-facial skin problems, just staring at you. How is the waiting room set up? Any other helpful info? I really appreciate it.What is it like sitting in a dermatologist's waiting room?
It's no worse than any other doctor's waiting room. A lot of dermatologists seem to make you wait a long time, so bring something to read to pass the time. My last dermatologist specialized in cosmetic stuff like Botox, so most of his patients were women, and he had lots of good women's magazines, unlike most doctors, who have only 2-year-old golf magazines.

If you have moderate acne, you should definitely see a dermatologist, because there are a lot of good helpful things they can do for you. It shouldn't be any worse than sitting in an internist's or G.P.'s office wondering if everyone there knows you have gas and diarrhea. What is it like sitting in a dermatologist's waiting room?
Its not that bad. Every derm's office is set up differently. I dont think anyone in the waiting room is going to be judging you, everyone is there for their own reason. And there usually isnt but a couple to a few people in the waiting room, if any at all.
It really isn't because usually alot of people aren't scheduled at once so their arent alot of people in the waiting room at one time. So don't worry about it. chances are other people probably have worse acne than you that are there. Plus theres magazines like all waiting rooms, so you won't just be sitting there staring at each other.
