What happens when you go to the dermatologist for an acne solution?

What does the doctor do? What kinds of prescriptions does he/she give you? And do they work?

Thanks; =]What happens when you go to the dermatologist for an acne solution?
I've seen 3 dermatologists over the years, and been prescribed a number of treatments of various strengths.

- Most dermatologists will prescribe a cream and a wash, for use once or twice a day, of various types and strengths.

- Another possibility is antibiotics to treat the bacteria which can cause acne, or make acne worse. All these may or may not work, depending on how severe your acne is, and what type of acne you have.

- Another possibilty is a contraceptive pill, which contains a hormone which treats acne.

- The strongest treatment I know of which dermatologists sometimes prescribe (usually not prescribed until a patient has stopped growing) is isotretinoin (tablets), which in most cases completely treats acne, in some cases permanantly from just a few months of treatment, but has many side effects.

Hope all this helped. What happens when you go to the dermatologist for an acne solution?
I wish you well in whatever choice that you make. My son had acne and I do know the distress that it can bring. Not to be taken lightly.

I also agree that you should see a dermatologist. I suggest that as welll as clearpores, you do have a look at the exposed acne product.

Also ensure that you check your diet to ensure that you are eating plenty of vegetables and fruit and also a simple tip to implement is to drink plenty of water each day.

Good luck with your decision
well it depends if u have mild or moderate or sever acne ,in mild he will give u a local solution to clear the skin ,i moderate and sever he will use systemic agent with antibiotics and for scars try these ways http://acnedestroyer.blogspot.com/2009/0鈥?/a>
Each case is different, and we're not dermatologists. Go and find out. And of course the RX's work--but he'll have to find the best one for you.
